One of the highest drinks on the Las Vegas Strip is back. Skyfall Rooftop Bar & Lounge has reopened on the 64th floor of W Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay after a full redesign, and the hotel has also opened a brand-new lobby bar called Living Room. Both spaces were reworked by the New York design firm Rockwell Group, according to the resort’s announcement.
Key Takeaways
- Skyfall sits 64 stories above the south end of the Strip and has reopened with a new look and a new cocktail menu.
- Skyfall hours: 5 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday, and 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday, with a live DJ Thursday through Saturday nights.
- The new Living Room lounge, next to the arrival lobby, is open from 2 p.m. daily.
- Both spaces were designed by Rockwell Group.
What’s new at Skyfall
The rooftop lounge got what MGM Resorts calls a full architectural and conceptual redesign, built around its sweeping views up the Strip. The new drink list leans creative. The Mojave Muse mixes butterfly pea flower, kaffir lime, lemongrass and sparkling cucumber soda with a violet gin float. The Dirty Little Secret is a savory gin martini with bleu cheese olives served with a caviar pairing, and the Skyline Spritz blends vodka with a strawberry-lychee cordial and peach bitters.
Zoey D’Arienzo, vice president of food and beverage for Mandalay Bay and W Las Vegas, described the lounge as “an elevated, sky-high retreat with unrivaled views of the Strip.”
Meet the Living Room
Down on the lobby level, the Living Room is the W brand’s signature lounge, and this one has a botanical theme with seasonal herbs and floral infusions. Drinks include a rose-sugar take on the Lemon Drop, a raspberry botanical aperitif and a tiki-style ube cocktail with silver rum. Hours are 2 p.m. to midnight Sunday through Thursday and 2 p.m. to 1 a.m. Friday and Saturday.
What it means for locals and visitors
Rooftop bars with real Strip views are rare, and Skyfall is one of the few that puts you this high up at the south end, looking north over the whole Boulevard. Prices were not included in the announcement, so check with the resort before you go. W Las Vegas is the hotel formerly known as Delano, connected to Mandalay Bay. Expect a crowd on weekend nights once the DJ starts.
