I-11 reopens in Henderson after closure near Horizon Ridge

Interstate 11 in Henderson is open again in both directions after police shut down the freeway between College Drive and Horizon Ridge Parkway for close to two hours Monday afternoon. Henderson police said officers responded to a woman in crisis on the Horizon Ridge overpass, and with help from the Henderson Fire Department they brought her down safely. She was taken to a hospital, police said; no other injuries were reported. Nevada State Police confirmed the closure, and all lanes were back open by about 2:30 to 2:40 p.m. (News 3, KTNV)

Driver tip: Traffic backed up on I-11 and nearby surface streets during the shutdown. Lanes are clear now, but expect some lingering slowdowns around Horizon Ridge Parkway and College Drive during the evening rush. When I-11 closes in this stretch, Eastern Avenue and Boulder Highway are the usual alternates.
