Oakwell Beer Spa, the Denver-born concept that pairs private spa suites with craft beer and wine, has picked its first spot outside Colorado: downtown Las Vegas. The company has signed a lease for about 4,000 square feet at 1 E. Charleston Blvd. and plans a build-out of more than $1 million, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Tuesday, Nov. 3, citing a company announcement.
What Oakwell is
Oakwell opened its first location in Denver in 2021 and runs company-owned spas in Colorado. The format is built around private hydrotherapy and sauna sessions combined with a food and drink side, drawing on the European “beer spa” tradition where guests soak in hops and barley while sipping draft beer. The brand started selling franchises earlier this year.
The Las Vegas spa is Oakwell’s first franchise. It is being developed by local husband-and-wife team Andrew and Gina Lanzino, according to a September franchise announcement. Andrew Lanzino is an Air Force veteran and a former senior vice president of strategy and citywide events at MGM Resorts International. In September the couple said they were scouting sites with a focus on the Arts District; the Charleston Boulevard lease settles that search.
No opening date or pricing has been announced yet.
What it means for locals and visitors
It adds another off-Strip draw to the Charleston corridor, home to many of the Arts District’s bars, breweries and galleries. For locals, it’s a new kind of night out that mixes a spa session with drinks. For visitors, it’s a short ride from Fremont Street and the Strip. Rideshare drivers can expect more pickups and drop-offs along East Charleston once it opens. We’ll update when Oakwell sets an opening date.
