Updated Wednesday, Oct. 28, around 9 p.m. Pacific. One incident to know about in the southwest valley tonight.

Motorcyclist critically injured at Fort Apache Road and Reno Avenue

A crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle just after 6 p.m. Wednesday at Fort Apache Road and Reno Avenue, near Tropicana Avenue, left the motorcyclist with critical injuries, Las Vegas police said. The rider was taken to a hospital; police did not immediately give the other driver’s condition or say whether speed or impairment played a role.

Driver tip: If you’re heading through the southwest valley, avoid Fort Apache between Tropicana and Reno until the scene clears. Durango Drive and Rainbow Boulevard are the nearest north-south alternatives. Fatal and critical crash investigations often keep roads closed for several hours.

We’ll add an update here if police release more information or the road reopens.
