What’s Happening
Country fans have a new stop in the center of the Strip. Category 10 Las Vegas opened its doors at the Flamingo on Thursday morning. It is the second Category 10 after the original in Nashville, and it is run by Opry Entertainment Group, part of Ryman Hospitality Properties. The name comes from Combs’ song “Hurricane,” and the storm theme runs through the whole building.
Here is how the three floors break down, according to Caesars Entertainment’s announcement:
- Hurricane Hall (first floor): the main dining room, with three bars, a center stage, a dance floor, daily live music and free line dancing lessons.
- Beautiful Crazy Women’s Lounge (first floor): a champagne bar with vanity-style seating.
- The Still (second floor): a bourbon bar with picks chosen by Combs, a view of the main stage and an outdoor patio.
- The Eye Rooftop (third floor): a covered rooftop with a DJ booth, dance floor and bar looking over the Strip.
The kitchen serves a made-from-scratch menu with Appalachian influences. Dishes called out at launch include Carolina Smoked Ribs, Deep Sea Señorita Shrimp Skewers, a Smoky Mountain Chicken Sandwich and a Carolina Bar-B-Que Chicken Flatbread. Specialty cocktails come in souvenir cups; the top sellers named are the Hurricane, Beautiful Crazy Sangria, Ain’t No Love and GHOST Purple Skies. There is also a hat wall with hats from Combs’ own collection and from fans.
For opening weekend, guests who spend $60 on merchandise get a free Category 10 Las Vegas poster. A getaway sweepstakes, with airfare, two nights at the Flamingo and a VIP dinner for two at Category 10, takes entries until Oct. 31.
What It Means for Las Vegas
The Flamingo and The LINQ Promenade area already draws heavy foot traffic, and a three-story venue with free live music gives visitors one more reason to stop at the center Strip instead of walking past. For locals, it adds a large country spot with a dance floor and free line dancing lessons right on the Boulevard. The announcement did not list a cover charge, regular hours or an age policy for the venue, so check before you go, especially if you are bringing anyone under 21.
Getting there: the Flamingo sits at 3555 S. Las Vegas Blvd. Weekend traffic around Flamingo Road is heavy, so a rideshare drop-off at the Flamingo or a walk from The LINQ is the easy way in.
What to Watch Next
Watch for the regular weekly music lineup once opening weekend wraps on Oct. 18, plus posted hours and any cover policy for big nights. Opry Entertainment has said a third Category 10 is planned for Universal Orlando’s CityWalk in early 2028.
