One of the Strip’s best-known nightclubs is about to go dark. JEWEL Nightclub inside Aria Resort and Casino will close permanently after business on Saturday, Nov. 21, MGM Resorts International announced in a release on Monday.

MGM said it has no immediate plans for the space once the club shuts down.

A final race-weekend send-off

The closing lines up with race weekend on the Strip. According to the club’s own schedule, Murphi Kennedy is booked for Friday, Nov. 20, and Kid Conrad plays the final night on Saturday, Nov. 21. JEWEL has been open Friday, Saturday and Monday nights from 10:30 p.m. until about 4 a.m.

Ten years at Aria

JEWEL opened in May 2016, with Jamie Foxx on hand and sets from DJ Irie, The Chainsmokers and Lil Jon. Hakkasan Group launched the club, and Tao Group took over operations after acquiring Hakkasan in 2021. The two-level venue is known for more than 1,400 feet of LED ribbon lighting and five themed VIP suites.

Where to go at Aria instead

MGM pointed guests to Aria’s other nightlife spots: Easy’s Cocktail Lounge, Lift Bar and Alibi Cocktail Social, which is set to open on Friday, Nov. 13.

What it means for locals and visitors

  • Want one last night at JEWEL? The club keeps its usual Friday, Saturday and Monday schedule until it closes, so there are still a few nights left. The final weekend falls on race weekend, when crowds and prices usually run higher.
  • Race weekend traffic: Getting to and from Aria during race weekend can take longer than usual, so plan extra time.
  • Industry jobs: MGM’s release did not say how many workers are affected.
